Lumetas Solar Panels Recognized For Superior Design And Innovation

Lumeta's BIPV residential Solar Flat and Solar S Tiles, and Lumeta's commercial PowerPly panels, were featured as a cutting-edge green innovation in a survey of the newest, most innovative green technologies that promote sustainability.

 Lumeta has announced that its Solar S Tile was honored as a first round winner in the Green EcoDesign category of the Spark Design Awards 2008 competition.

As part of its second international design competition that drew hundreds of entries from designers, architects, manufactures, institutions and ad and design firms, the Spark Awards' "Green" category recognizes superior sustainable design that directly contributes to making environmentally friendly products more desirable.

Lumeta's residential Solar S Tile simulates the shape of clay and concrete profiled (Spanish-style) tiles, directly replacing traditional roof tiles to become a part of the roof structure.

Designed to break through the adoption barriers of residential solar, the Solar S Tile avoids making roof penetrations upon installation and is manufactured in the most popular roofing tile colors, resulting in a highly operational, aesthetically pleasing roof that generates clean electricity.

"My partner Brian Flaherty, president of DRI Commercial, and I invented Lumeta solar products in direct response to our roofing customers' requirements for clean energy solutions that do not compromise the functionality and aesthetics of their roof systems," said Tim Davey, CEO of DRI Companies.

"Lumeta's BIPV products present a win-win solar solution: clean energy and a beautiful, highly functional roof."

Lumeta's solar products were also featured in a September "Top 5 Green Innovations" segment of HDNet's World Report, a weekly, in-depth world news program.
