BioSolar Introduces Bright-White BioBacksheet For Improved Efficiency
Santa Clarita CA (SPX) Oct 22, 2010
BioSolar has announced the introduction of a bright-white BioBacksheet in response to demand from its prospective customers. "While meeting with PV module manufacturers in recent months, we encountered an overwhelming preference for a bright-white colored BioBacksheet in lieu of the existing translucent design. For cosmetic reasons, as well as for its high-reflectivity which improves cell efficiency, manufacturers prefer a bright-white colored backsheet," said Dr. David Lee, BioSolar's Chief Execu ... read more

Structure Of Plastic Solar Cells Impedes Their Efficiency
Raleigh, NC (SPX) Oct 13, 2010
A team of researchers from North Carolina State University and the U.K. has found that the low rate of energy conversion in all-polymer solar-cell technology is caused by the structure of the solar cells themselves. They hope that their findings will lead to the creation of more efficient solar cells. Polymeric solar cells are made of thin layers of interpenetrating structures from two dif ... more
