Axiom Space selects Siemens software to boost orbital infrastructure programs

Axiom Space has partnered with Siemens to enhance the design and development of its commercial space projects by implementing tools from the Siemens Xcelerator software suite. This collaboration aims to streamline workflows and support the creation of next-generation space infrastructure, including Axiom's commercial space station and its advanced spacesuit initiatives.

"After an extensive selection process, we chose to work with Siemens to enable Axiom Space to refine our workflows and simplify complex processes, connecting the dots between design, manufacturing, analysis, and operational phases," said Dave Romero, Axiom Station Deputy Program Manager, Axiom Space. "Using Siemens' software, we can test and simulate our designs before we build them, allowing us to progress with more agility and increased flexibility."

By leveraging Siemens Xcelerator, Axiom Space can significantly boost productivity, reduce operational costs, and enhance its ability to manage and execute manufacturing, testing, and deployment activities. The software facilitates the use of digital threads and digital twins, unifying all stages of project development within a single integrated platform. These capabilities are vital to the progress of both the Axiom Station and the Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit (AxEMU) programs.

The adoption of Siemens' digital tools allows Axiom Space to transition away from conventional paper-based engineering. Every component can be digitally monitored, and the full product lifecycle can be managed through an integrated system, ensuring a smoother transition from design to deployment.
