TERROR WARS
Bulgaria to extradite boy, 15, to Spain on terror charges
by Staff Writers
Sofia (AFP) Jan 05, 2015

A Bulgarian court ordered the extradition of three alleged would-be jihadists to Spain on Monday, including one aged 15.

The Brazilian man and two Moroccans are wanted on terrorism charges.

The three were allegedly on their way to join insurgents in Syria when they were detained in mid-December at the southeastern Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint with Turkey on international arrest warrants.

Their names were not given at the time but the regional court in the southern town of Haskovo identified them on Monday as Kayke Guimaraes from Brazil, and Mohamed El Gharbi and Taoufiq Mouhouch from Morocco.

All three live in the Barcelona region.

Interpol said they were aged 15, 18 and 27.

The three will now be transferred to Sofia and extradited shortly to Spain, the court said.

The increasing flow of Europeans heading to join jihadists of the Islamic State organisation in Syria and Iraq has become a serious concern for European governments.
