Esri contracted for embedded training of intelligence agency personnel
by Richard Tomkins
Washington (UPI) Mar 30, 2017

Spatial analytics company Esri is to place National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency personnel in temporary positions as part of an embedded training program, the company announced on Thursday.

The move is part of the agency's eNGAge program to enable NGA personnel to gain familiarity with new emerging technologies and methodologies in the private sector.

"Esri is excited to partner with NGA to collaborate with and learn from each other," Esri president and founder Jack Dangermond said in a press release. "One of the key foundations of spatial analytics is the sharing of information, so the exchange of ideas and skills is crucial to the success of our platform."

Esri said NGA employees will be able to use company products to generate imagery and data content using a range of spatial analytics products offered by Esri.

Among those products will be Living Atlas of the World, an authoritative, comprehensive collection of high-quality online geographic information.
