Groom Energy Solutions today announced the availability of its GES Hybrid parking garage lighting fixture, a patent-pending retrofit kit that reduces by 50 percent, the energy consumed by typical parking garage lighting fixtures. The unique design quickly retrofits into existing high intensity discharge based parking garage fixtures converting them to more energy efficient fluorescent-based lamps.

The result is more light output at half the cost, without the waste associated with a complete fixture replacement. Customers can expect to implement this retrofit with a one year return on their investment.

"At EMC it is our goal to have state-of-the-art facilities that are safe, functional and both energy and environmentally efficient," said Paul Fitzgerald, senior director of facilities services at EMC Corporation.

"We have worked together with Groom Energy on several efficiency programs and when we saw the potential operational savings of this new fixture, it was a 'no brainer.' We have since installed these fixtures in two of our parking garages and have experienced dual benefits of increased light levels and reduced energy usage."

"We're pleased to formally introduce this new energy efficient product," said Fritz Troller, vice president of marketing, Groom Energy Solutions. "It is a unique application which we created based on customer input. As with all of our energy efficiency solutions, we have focused on delivering high performance with high return on investment. With large rollouts expected in the coming months, we are confident that customers will see dramatic energy savings and improved performance at their facilities."
