Kamen Corp. reports it is to supply its Joint Programmable Fuzes to unidentified countries under recently received commercial sale purchase orders.

The orders to Kamen's Aerospace business are worth $68 million and are to be delivered this year and next, but additional details of the orders were not disclosed.

The company's JPF allows the settings of a weapon to which they are attached to be programmed on wing in flight. The JPF is used on U.S. Air Force general purpose bombs -- and guided bombs that use JDAM or Paveway kits – carried by F-15, F-16, F-22, A-10, B-1, B-2, and B-52 aircraft, as well as the MQ-9 unmanned aerial vehicle.

It is also used by aircraft of 26 other countries.

"The reliability and functionality of the JPF cause it to remain in high demand with nations around the world," said Greg Steiner, president of Kaman Aerospace. "These orders solidify the program for the balance of this year, and with a program backlog that now exceeds $200 million, provide visibility well into 2017.
