Lado Okhotnikov: "I'm always drawn to doing what others wouldn't dare

A technovator, thinker, and visionary. Lado Okhotnikov strives not only to redefine our perception of health, but also to improve people's quality of life through innovation. He challenges conventional perspectives-including in philanthropy. Today, we'll discuss modern life philosophy and successful business with Lado Okhotnikov.

Foreword: The Boy Named Lado

Lado Okhotnikov was born in 1978 in Kazakhstan. His father was a Greco-Roman wrestling coach, and from an early age, Lado was introduced to the sport. Hard work anda euro : Success in sports came quickly: numerous awards, championships, and then-turning 18. The year was 1996. Times were tough, and a job was needed.

While studying film directing, the future successful businessman already showed promise. He began his career at an international company. Positive reviews about Lado Okhotnikov started to appear. At 25, he became deeply fascinated by the art of tea ceremonies, undergoing exclusive training and even working as a tea master. Over the years, Georgia captivated him-not just as a travel destination but eventually as a home. It was in Sakartvelo that he found what he had been missing: a rich culture. Another passion soon followed-innovative startups and a keen interest in technology.

How Perspectives Are Shaped

- Lado, tell us about yourself. What or who shaped your worldview?

- Oh, that's a long list! In reality, everything in life shapes you in one way or another-the people around you, the events you experience. But to put it simply, my journey has shaped me. I believe that any success is closely tied to what excites and inspires you. It has to ignite a fire within, not just be about making money.

I realized that life isn't just for living-you can direct it. Like a film, you can build the plot, change the scenes, and shape the story. At some point, this became my main project. Now, I create movies and build realities-not only in the metaverse but also in the real world.

- We know you held a champion title in wrestling from a young age. Did Greco-Roman wrestling help you in business?

- Absolutely. Sports play a crucial role in shaping character. In wrestling, there's a moment before every match when you secretly hope for a weaker opponent. But when you win against someone weaker, it doesn't bring much satisfaction. However, if you defeat a strong opponent-one where the odds are against you-that's a completely different feeling.

The same applies to life. Overcoming real challenges strengthens and inspires you. I'm always drawn to doing what others wouldn't dare. If a path is already well-trodden, it's not for me. I want to bring something new to the table, and copying others doesn't accomplish that. That's why I seek out innovative projects.

A traditional entrepreneur looks for profitable niches, applies existing models, and builds on what already works. But a visionary creates something that hasn't existed before.

"Philanthropy Shouldn't Turn the Needy into Dependents."

- You're involved in philanthropy. In what format? Reviews about Lado Okhotnikov vary. Tell us your perspective on this.

- Yes, I have a non-traditional approach to philanthropy. Philanthropy shouldn't turn into handouts that make people dependent. One of our projects, "Fenichka Dobra". Low-income individuals in Africa make bracelets, which will then be showcased on a marketplace This teaches people to earn their own money, giving them a foundation for self-sufficiency. This principle guides all of my charitable projects-there will be several. And as for reviews about Lado Okhotnikov, they will always vary. That's human nature. It's easy to criticize without understanding the full picture.

In the UAE, I'm also interested in innovative projects related to ecology. There are challenges here due to the climate, but even in these areas, development is happening. Right now, I see the Emirates as a place where rational thinking is preserved while the rest of the world seems to be losing its mind.

- Your views on help and ecology are fascinating. I have to ask-do you plan to go into politics?

- Definitely not. But I won't make any definitive statements. Donald Trump didn't plan on it initially, either.

Profitable projects and innovative startups can do more than just change markets-they can influence society. The future I'm building isn't just about technology; it's about improving people's lives. And for the things I dream of, nothing is impossible. Everything is achievable-that's what I'm focused on.

About Tea and the Future

- One last question: does the tea ceremony still have a place in your life?

- Once you truly embrace the path of tea, you can never stop. It refines perception, reveals new layers of taste and emotion. The journey is endless-there's always room to grow. I once pursued tea as a business, though on a much smaller scale. Soon, tea will become part of my projects again, alongside several initiatives in the metaverse aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and enhancing quality of life. Believe me, you'll be hearing more about Lado Okhotnikov-positive reviews included. (Laughs)

You see, when you introduce health programs and improve your own life, you automatically influence the world around you. It all works according to Maslow's hierarchy: first, people meet their basic needs, take care of their health, and then begin to think on a larger scale. They realize the world is their home, and they want to improve it-to take care of it. For example, through environmental efforts. I believe people will get there, and my team and I will help facilitate that process.

Instead of an Epilogue

Reviews about Lado Okhotnikov vary-from his unconventional business approach to his bold decisions and innovative projects. Many acknowledge that his health programs and technological initiatives genuinely improve people's quality of life. But one thing is clear-his projects always spark interest and never leave people indifferent

Washington (AFP) Feb 20, 2025
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered a review of the department's 2026 budget so as to reallocate $50 billion in funds, the Pentagon said Wednesday, following reports that he had directed deep, multi-year cuts to military spending. US media said Hegseth directed senior Defense Department leaders to plan for cuts that could slash the defense budget by eight percent annually, or some $290 billion within the next five years.
