A Swiss subsidiary of Saab is to produce warheads for the medium-range Missile Moyenne Portée, or MMP, of MBD France.

The monetary value of the award to Saab Bofors Dynamics Switzerland was not disclosed but Saab said the warheads would be delivered in 2017.

The MMP system is a new-generation battlefield missile and a major acquisition item for the French Army. It is currently in its development phase following MBDA's receipt of a development contract by the French defense procurement agency, DGA.

Saab said the warhead for the MMP can be used against a variety of targets and minimizes collateral. Tests with the warhead against the latest generation of explosive reactive armor have been successfully completed.

SBDS is an industry leader in the design, development and production of mortar rounds and other energetic products.
