Marlink has agreed to purchase the WaveCall brand from Sea Tel. Marlink will package its maritime VSAT solution and full-service support network with the Sea Tel 4006 Ku-band antenna system.

"Marlink and Sea Tel's long-standing relationship provides a strong foundation for this new agreement, which will maximize the potential of WaveCall as further strength to our VSAT portfolio. This next generation of WaveCall combines state-of-the-art equipment with fast and cost-efficient service and support based on customers' true needs," says Tore Morten Olsen, CEO of Marlink.

The 4006 Ku-band antenna is Sea Tel's most advanced technology for providing reliable satellite communications specifically in the maritime environment. It is comprised of Above Deck and Below Deck equipment designed to withstand extreme marine conditions and maintain a stable connection, ideal for vessels that require "always-on" satellite communications.

WaveCall by Marlink is a fast, cost-efficient VSAT solution providing professional-class e-mail, Internet, voice and IP packages for the leisure yachting sector.

Features and value-added services with the new WaveCall include high-speed connectivity, simultaneous voice and data services, prepaid calling cards, and flexible billing. Marlink and its agents will be the customer's one-stop point of contact for WaveCall, backed by the industry's most trusted service and support network.

WaveCall by Marlink is one of the many products included in Marlink's extensive portfolio of offerings. Providing both always-on VSAT and on demand services, such as Inmarsat, Iridium and Thuraya, makes Marlink unique in the maritime market as a full service communications solutions provider.

Every fourth vessel requiring satellite communications at sea uses a solution provided by Marlink.
