The U.S. Navy has selected Mikros Systems Corporation for equipment enhancement and support and for designing a new maintenance system.

The work comes under four awards with a combined total value of $975,000.

Mikros develops and manufactures test and maintenance equipment for the Navy, including a test workstation known as ADEPT, and a networked based system for condition-based maintenance.

Under two contracts, the company will support and improve the ADEPT workstation. The contracts include provisions for training of Navy personnel in the system's use and an upgrade to system instrumentation for data acquisition.

A new ADSSS contract is for the design of a new portable maintenance device for use aboard ships. The second is for installation of condition-based maintenance equipment on the USS Fort Worth, a littoral combat ship, and its testing.

ADEPT, or Adaptive Diagnostic Electronic Portable Testset, is an automated and programmable test tool designed to aid in the maintenance, alignment, calibration, and error diagnosis of radar and other electronic systems.

"We are delighted that the Navy has continued to support the LCS condition-based maintenance program," Mikros President Tom Meaney said. "Our goal is that these projects will transition into production orders after the initial sea tests of this new ADSSS system which are currently planned for next year.

"We continue to make excellent progress in 2014 and expect that these new development projects and production orders, will provide a firm foundation for continued growth over the next few years."
