The U.S. Navy is awarding Boeing a contract modification for acquisition of long-lead items for the manufacture and delivery of P-8A Poseidon aircraft.

The Department of Defense said the modification to a previously awarded P-8A Multi-mission Maritime Aircraft advance acquisition contract -- N00019-14-C-0067 – is worth $235,273,721 million.

The long-lead items to be procured by Boeing are for the manufacture of 11 aircraft of Lot 8 full-rate production IV Poseidons by Boeing.

U.S. Navy fiscal 2016 aircraft procurement funds will be obligated at time of award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year, the Department of Defense said.

The contracting activity for the contract modification is the Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md.
