OPDE is going to begin the construction of a new 5 MWp solar farm near the little municipality of Low Bentham, North Yorkshire County, north of the country. According to the information given by the company, it is expected that the works will begin next October and are to be completed this year. Once connected to the grid, the new plant will generate each year the equivalent energy consumption of 1,335 homes and will avoid the emission of approximately 49,400 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere during its lifetime. Once the new plant is completed, OPDE will have accumulated near 100MWp photovoltaic built in England, a country in which the company has increased considerably its activity in the years 2015 and 2016. This is mainly due to two factors: the bet that the country has made for solar photovoltaic energy; and the extensive experience of the multinational company in projects located in Italy, Spain, Mexico, USA or Chile, among other countries, which has not gone unnoticed by the major agents of the local energy market.
Other projects With more than a decade of history, OPDE currently keeps solar photovoltaic development projects in excess of 800 MW distributed throughout the world.
