Raytheon Awarded JPL Data Systems Contract

Raytheon has been awarded the data and systems implementation and operations, or DSIO, subcontract by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Raytheon will provide systems engineering and design, Web development and information technology services to support the center's mission.

Managed under a prime contract between NASA and the California Institute of Technology, the subcontract will cover a five-year base period with two-year and three-year award term options. The five-year base period of performance will have an initial value of $83 million.

"Raytheon's relationship with the NASA JPL team has been distinguished by a strong, enduring commitment to program execution," said TW Scott, Raytheon Information Solutions vice president.

"This contract reflects NASA's continued confidence in Raytheon's ability to deliver the most innovative and reliable engineering solutions vital to mission success."

For 10 years, Raytheon has been supporting JPL with systems engineering, design, development and operations. Raytheon obtained Software Engineering Institute Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI(R)) Level 3 certification rating for services in 2004 and Capability Level 3 for engineering processes this past year at the Pasadena location.

These certifications will further enhance the team's ability to effectively design, develop and operate complex science, data and advanced information systems for NASA and JPL.
