Raytheon takes over Foreground Security

Raytheon says it has accelerated its expansion into managed security services with the acquisition of Virginia-based Foreground Security.

Foreground Security is a provider of managed security operations centers and cyber-security services. It will now conduct operations as Raytheon Foreground Security.

"Raytheon Foreground Security has an exceptionally strong portfolio of solutions and proprietary technology in some of the fastest growing segments of the cyber-security market," said Dave Wajsgras, president of Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services. "Importantly, they will complement and expand our cyber-security business.

"Their capabilities are compelling and clearly add immediate value to our already broad cyber offerings."

Foreground Security's producys include its Virtual Security Operations Center and Automated Threat Intelligence Platform for advanced cyber monitoring, threat hunting and professional services.

Terms of the transaction and transaction details were not disclosed.
