Romantis has announced that it signed an extension to its agreement for the occasional-use bandwidth on the Express-AM44 satellite (11 degrees West) with the Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC), the Russian state satellite operator.

Under the terms of the contract extension, Romantis will use Ku-band capacity on Express-AM44 European beam to further support its expanded occasional use services.

Romantis is providing this bandwidth on-demand for media, business and government since September 2010 offering efficient, just-in-time video, voice and data communications.

Romantis established single point-of-contact customer support and convenient web-based online booking and carrier monitoring tools that allow broadcasters and media companies to effectively plan and manage transmissions on-the-fly.

Customers are offered flexible throughputs - from a couple of MHz for standard video or data and up to the entire transponder for HD transmissions.

"Thanks to excellent cooperation with RSCC and superb EIRP and G/T parameters of Express-AM44, Romantis succeeded to establish a high-quality OU service in the middle of Europe, which is used by an increasing number of countries," said Dr. Harald W. Stange, Managing Director and CEO of Romantis GmbH.

"We expect another push during the next month and especially also in conjunction with the European Football Championship to be held in Poland and Ukraine, where Express-AM44 will give the best features for transmissions inside these countries, and between both countries and Western Europe".
