Hermosa Beach CA (SPX) Jun 02, 2010 The Green Flag was firmly planted in Hermosa Beach today with the opening of the new ABC Solar Design/Build Studio on Pacific Coast Highway. This is the third location for the ABC Solar Design/Build Studio after its flagship store in Torrance and Running Springs, California. ABC Solar's new store will run on solar power, batteries, LED Lighting, and kinetic power. The new 1,024 square foot space features a solar design library, roofing interface and racking displays, and human solar specialists. The Grand Opening for the ABC Solar Design/Build Studio is Friday June 4th starting with a Green Ribbon cutting leading to unplugged sets from two rising local bands: Suburban Pitch and Sono Vero. The acoustic playing is in theme with ABC Solar's effort to operate this retail location on solar charged batteries without SCE . ABC Solar will also have on display operating versions of its Solar Hot Tub Kits, On-grid and Off-grid inverters, Solar Ovens and solar pool pumps. Solar Electric Grid-Tie systems are the 10 year specialty of ABC Solar. The firm has developed solar power systems for reducing consumption and then generating the remaining electric use by solar photovoltaic systems. Locally, the ABC Solar Pool Pumping and Circulation system simply take pool pumps off-the-grid with direct solar powered hi-voltage pool pumps. A pool pump is the largest user of electricity in our local South Bay homes. ABC Solar takes homes to ZERO by combining solar grid-tie and solar pool pumps. The Hermosa Beach location of the ABC Solar Design/Build Studio was chosen simply because Hermosa Beach is great and green. ABC Solar calls HB The Green Lighthouse for its open and progressive attitude to solar. The city is pushing it's "Cool Cities and Go Green." The mayor of Hermosa Beach Michael DiVirgilio called ABC Solar's founder and congratulated him on the move and investment into Hermosa Beach. The phone conversation left Brad Bartz feeling like the right decision was made to expand and participate in Hermosa Beach's green movement. Hermosa Beach gives Over-The-Counter Solar Permits. This means that ABC Solar and other energy contractors can hire installers quickly and help Solar capture two main goals: Increase Jobs and Make Clean Energy. The South Bay beacons of planning and solar building sense are Hermosa Beach, Rancho Palos Verdes and Palos Verdes Estates, California. These jurisdictions all give solar permits over the counter and at reduced permit fees. ABC Solar congratulates and applaud city leaders for making this so.
