Tiburon Subsea has introduced its patent-pending autonomous underwater thruster control technology, JETTE.

JETTE is an in-line dual vectored subsea robotic propulsion system designed for the underwater robotics market.

The design uses dual fore and aft thrusters working both independently and together, providing Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUV) with improved capabilities. The JETTE system enhances speed, control, maneuverability, durability, and redundancy compared to traditional UUVs. This design removes long-standing control plane issues, offering extended hover, dwell, and scan abilities while simplifying maintenance and providing self-rescue capabilities. It represents an evolution in hydrodynamic efficiency.

Ocean Explorer and Tiburon Subsea CEO Tim Taylor commented, "Autonomous vehicles are opening new frontiers just as satellites have in space. Timely ocean data is a missing link. Renewable energy, climate change remediation, coastal engineering and security will all benefit from this technology. Tiburon's aim is to democratize access to autonomous robotic tech for stakeholders and caretakers. In facilitating access to data, we will increase awareness, care, and management of our ocean resources and environment in real-time."
