Trina Solar has supplied S.A.G. Solarstrom AG with more than 137,000 solar panels with a total generation capacity of 33Mw. The modules were installed at a PV park on the site of the former RAF Wymeswold airfield, and the array has been connected to the grid in March 2013.

The project is thus eligible for full support under the Renewables Obligation Certificates scheme.

"As an international supplier of high-quality PV arrays, we exclusively use premium products and components. We carry out continuous systematic evaluations of the performance and quality of modules from all the top manufacturers," said S.A.G. Solarstrom AG CEO Dr Karl Kuhlmann.

"The quality of Trina Solar's modules was thoroughly convincing."

Ben Hill, Head of Trina Solar Europe, said: "We are delighted to be working with S.A.G. Solarstrom AG. The fact that such an important customer has again chosen our modules is a clear sign that our investment in product quality and supply capacity, and the reliability of our products and services, is held in high regard.

"In our experience, the performance of Trina Solar modules in field tests in particular is excellent - their actual performance is consistently substantially higher than anticipated."

Nanowires Have the Power to Revolutionize Solar Energy
Zurich, Switzerland (SPX) Apr 11, 2013
Imagine a solar panel more efficient than today's best solar panels, but using 10 000 times less material. This is what EPFL researchers expect given recent findings on these tiny filaments called nanowires. Solar technology integrating nanowires could capture large quantities of light and produce energy with incredible efficiency at a much lower cost. This technology is possibly the future for ... read more
