Rolls-Royce has been awarded a contract to support the US Marines Corps fleet of KC-130J air-to-air refueling tankers, worth more than $50 million.

Engines on KC-130J tankers operated by the U.S. Marine Corps are to receive Rolls-Royce MissionCare sustainment services under a one-year contract.

In addition to services for Rolls-Royce AE 2100 engines on Marine KC-130Js, the $50 million contract covers propellers and other propulsion system repairs and services for three KC-130Js operated by Kuwait and procured under the U.S. Foreign Military Sales program.

The FMS to Kuwait was a follow-on contract awarded by the U.S. Navy.

"Our mission is to ensure these aircraft are ready to fly when needed and we continually focus on delivering innovative and cost effective support for our customers," said Paul Craig, Rolls-Royce's president of Defense Customer Services.

Rolls-Royce said it will deploy personnel to multiple military bases to fulfill the contract.

Additional details of the service contract were not disclosed.
