WidePoint Corporation reports that its iSYS LLC subsidiary has received a task order for cellular wireless managed services for the Federal Protective Service.

The task order is the first for the company under a $600 million Department of Homeland Security Blanket Purchase Agreement.

The Federal Protective Service is a law enforcement agency that operates under the umbrellas of DHS.

"The DHS CWMS BPA will fundamentally change the federal government's approach to management of their mobility programs," said Jin H. Kang, chief operations officer of WidePoint Corporation. "WidePoint is honored to support DHS in their pioneering efforts to streamline the acquisition and management of their mobility assets.

"The DHS CWMS BPA will have a positive transformative effect on the complexion of WidePoint as a whole," Kang said.

Added Steve L. Komar, chief executive officer and chairman of WidePoint Corporation: "We are pleased to add the Federal Protective Service to the growing list of DHS component agencies that we serve.

"WidePoint is a leading and long-time provider of telecom expense management and managed mobility services to the federal government, and we look forward significantly growing our federal business through the DHS Blanket Purchase Agreement."

The initial order has a one-year period of performance and is worth $2.3 million. Additional details of the contract were not disclosed.
