Seven individual plants with a combined capacity of 7.4 megawatt (MW) will produce 12 million kilowatt hours of clean electricity per year / EPC-project commissioned by Turkish company Karine Enerji The German juwi Group has expanded its international footprint. In the Municipality of Denizli, about 200 kilometers northwest of Antalya, the specialist for climate-friendly energy generation is currently constructing the company's first project in Turkey. The seven individual PV solar power plants have a combined capacity of 7.4 MW and are scheduled to be connected to the grid early this summer. The EPC-project was commissioned by Karine Enerji. Commenting on the company's market entry in Turkey, juwi-COO Stephan Hansen says: "The Turkish energy market offers great potential for renewables. We have been active in the country since 2013 and juwi is already considered as one the top foreign EPC contractors in the country. We follow a large pipeline of potential projects and will successfully realize more projects in the future." Turkey is committed to renewable energies. The country's target is to achieve one-third of its power needs from renewable energy by 2023. In the past ten years the country's installed renewable energy capacity has more than doubled to 25 GW. An estimated 40 GW of renewable energy capacity is going to be installed during the next ten years. "Wind- and solar energy will be the backbone of the country's future energy supply. With its vast experience in developing, financing and constructing renewable energy projects all over the world juwi is very well positioned to successfully participate in the country's expanding renewable energy market", juwi-COO Stephan Hansen continues.
