China tightens export curbs on some battery technologies



Beijing (AFP) July 15, 2025
China tightened export restrictions on certain battery materials technologies on Tuesday, as Beijing pulls ahead in the emergent sector despite its trade war with the United States. The two economic superpowers have traded barbs this year over export curbs, with Washington notably raising the threshold for selling high-end semiconductors to China.
